25 CONSECUTIVE DAYS
25 REASONS TO GO VEGAN
Canadian entrepreneur and author from Montreal, Jeff turned to a plant-based diet in 1998. With no previous experience and only 6 months of training, Letendre completed in the summer of 2019 the Canadaman Xtriworld tour full distance triathlon, the crossing of Lac Tremblant (11.5km), and the Ultra Marathon Bromont (80km).
JOIN THE CHALLENGE!
This time, in an effort to raise more awareness towards veganism and the benefits of a plant-based diet, Jeff raises the bar in attempting 25 marathons in 25 days. The goal is to demonstrate how you can thrive on a vegan diet and put the light on 25 great reasons to switch to a plant-based way of life. The runs will take place on the natural trail Le petit train du Nord starting at km 33 in St-Adèle. This beautiful old railway line curves around rivers, lakes, and mountain bases. Jeff welcomes and encourages any vegan or open-minded people transitioning to a cruelty-free diet to join for a 5km, 10 km, or even a full marathon. Pick your date and come running for the animals! Let's show the world vegans are fit and enduring!
Jeff aims at raising $ 2,500 for the RR Refuge. A refuge that saves, rehabilitates and provides shelter to animals that have been abused, neglected or abandoned. Please donate generously!
The marathons will be followed by a series of podcasts with 25 influential vegans to discuss the reasons why the world needs to adopt a plant-based way of life. Jeff will be followed by a filming crew with the intention of releasing a documentary after the event. Participants running with Jeff will be invited to explain why they became vegan and how it has impacted their lives in short 2 min interviews that will be shared on social media and maybe showcased in the documentary.

IS THIS AN ORGANIZED EVENT FOR THE PUBLIC?
WHAT'S THE PACE, DO I NEED TO BE A PRO TO PARTICIPATE?
No, the 25x42KM is a private event. As such, if you want to join you are responsible for your own organization of water, food, and safety precautions. Jeff is planning to run 10 km sections going back and forth from the parking. This will allow for water and food refill as there are no stations along the trail. Please refer to https://ptittraindunord.com/ for more details about the trail and available commodities.
WHAT SHOULD I DO TO BE INTERVIEWED AFTER MY RACE
If you finish a 5km, 10 km or the full marathon we invite you at the end of your race to tell us why and how you became vegan through a short 2 min interview. All you have to do is write to us as soon as possible to let us know what date you want to run. It's important to know in advance to make sure a cameraman is at the parking lot to film you at the finish line.
No, you do not need to be a pro. Jeff is an amateur runner and the goal is to go through the 25 marathons without injuries. The pace will probably be between 4:45 and 5:45min per km if all go well. In order to prioritize the challenge, Jeff will run at his own pace and will not be able to wait for other runners.
